    BOLIVIA RECOGNIZES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The two chambers of Bolivian Parliament adopted a resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide.

Relevant documents were handed over to Ambassador of Armenia to Argentina Vahagn Melikyan and Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Argentina, His Eminence Archbishop Gisak Muradyan in Buenos Aires on November 30.

Deputy President of the Bolivian Senate, Acting Chairperson of the Senate Sonia Guardia Melgar and MP of the Chamber of Deputies Farides Vala Suarez de Suarez were among the special guests of the event, Armenian Foreign Ministry informs.

Sonia Melgar noted in her speech that the people of Bolivia and its authorities offer not only their solidarity and support to Armenian people in their struggle for the justice but also condemn any expression of denial of the Armenian Genocide committed in 1915 by the Ottoman Empire.

On behalf of the Armenian authorities, Vahagn Melikyan expressed his profound gratitude to the people and authorities of Bolivia. According to the Ambassador, ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Bolivia opens a new page in the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and comes to prove once again that the policy of denial and refusal cannot struggle against justice and truth.
